| Dewgs: Well I joined around 9 tonight, so halfway through the show...let's see what I can recall here since I was not blogging live. Group songs cheesy as usual. Rod Stewart - awesome. Kiss - creepy but entertaining. What was Adam wearing? Shoulder wings and 12 inch platform shoes, glitter eyeliner - yikes. The two with Steve Martin - why? Carlos Santana - I changed it to the Indians game because I do not like him. Flipped back and Kris was singing so I then left it on. Thing with Tatiana - planned and lame. Queen - AWESOME. I had goosebumps the whole time. Kris winning - YES. So authentic, so humble, so amazing.
Mewgs: I saw the beginning of Idol this evening but then my tv's converter box was all pissy and wouldn't let me watch the rest. However, in the half hour I saw I did get to see Randy's sweet red velvet bow tie, a horrible group song, and some performances by artists I don't care about. Anyway, a SHOCKING win by Kris! Wow, I did not see that one coming! I'm happy for the guy although I never thought he would be the one to win it all. I'm sure it will further his career more than it would have for Adam (who was already on Broadway and such) so it was definitely for the best.

| Dewgs: Well...this season has just been incredibly anticlimactic for me. Even this finale is like...blah. Adam never really let loose and he was whiny in the final song. His second song was pretty good. First song - whatever. Kris's first song was great, second song was blah, and the finale song was good - I liked it better than Adam's but I would be willing to take another listen. Simon hates the finale song - no shocker there. He said that Adam is one of the best contestants ever and he believes Adam is a world-wide star. Kara co-wrote the finale song and it was just as cheesy as ever. Well...I guess this finale was similar to the rest of the season...just alright for me, dawg.
I want Kris to win. Not that I really need to explain myself, but he seems really genuine and I can appreciate that.
Mewgs: I'm writing this a bit late since it was my birthday today! woo. Just watched the Rickey videos. Adam singing "Mad World"--eh okay. Next up,"A Change Is Gonna Come" (Producer's Choice)--an odd song choice...well he sang the crap out of that song. I didn't enjoy some of the screaming obviously. Although he did keep that to a minimum. "No Boundaries"--oh god this is horrible. Both the song and Adam singing it. YIKES. He just doesn't fit with the cheesy pop songs. This is going to be bad news if he wins and has to sing this as his first single. On to Kris. "Ain't No Sunshine"--nice vest. Pretty good. "What's Going On" (Producer's Choice)-- I enjoyed this actually. No screaming like Mr. Lambert so I'm happy. Now finally on to the horrible song "No Boundaries". Effing Kara. Well this has to be better than Adam...Yep it already fits better. I can actually imagine this on the radio. Well I am going to agree with Dewgs and hope for Kris (which is shocking if you look at how excited I was about Adam at the beginning of the season). Adam is just too ridiculous at this point and I can't imagine him on the radio. Kris isn't anything amazing but I can at least picture him as a pop artist. If only Allison were here...

| The top 2 will be Kris & Adam. Danny has gone bye-bye. Fine with me I suppose. Kris and Adam are so different--it will be an interesting finale for sure. Kris has to pull out some stops in order to beat the Adam craze though. I am still bitter that Allison won't be there...

Dewgs: I did not recognize the song until he started singing the chorus. I thought it was okay, kind of a good mix between his screamy stuff and his really soft stuff - good to see them intertwined I guess. This was nothing too special for me though.
Mewgs: Uhhh no thanks on this song choice. What is this, 1992? Lord. Oh and then lots of screaming. Now that Rock week is over I am back to disliking Adam. That song was just too ridiculous.

Dewgs: I liked the beginning, did not like how he started screaming in the middle and I could not understand a word he was saying. The backup vocals in the beginning were especially terrible. Seemed pretty karaoke and theatrical at times - no surprise there. I would say they were some standard performances by Adam tonight.
Mewgs: Ooo good song. And I feel like Aerosmith actually fits him. Okay, I can dig it. Dang it was good until the screaming started. Why does he think he has to do that? His voice is strong enough on its own. I honestly liked it besides the really high screams that made my ears hurt.

Dewgs: No thank you. Hated it. The sax thing was dumb, too.
Mewgs: Huh. Why did he pick this song? It is pretty lame. I didn't really enjoy this. It was pretty boring overall.

Dewgs: No. I did not like the melodic changes and I don't really like this song that much. Oh, and I don't like Danny.
Mewgs: Another ridiculously cheesy song choice. Well the end was better. But still. Is this the stuff that is going to be on Danny's album? No thanks. Now don't get me wrong, I like Danny in general but these songs were so lame. You just can't do that at this point in the competition.
Kris Allen

Dewgs: I do not really like this song, but I think he did a good job performing. I liked it.
Mewgs: Oh I've never heard this song before...haha. Those high notes don't sound the greatest. But maybe I'm being picky. I guess we have to at this point. I'd like to mention how surprised I am that Kris is still in this competition. He's good but there are very few times I have been really jazzed about his performance. This was okay.
Heartless
Dewgs: Um this is awesome. It might be the first Idol song I buy on iTunes this season. I love it. Oh and Kara is a complete moron.
Mewgs: Interesting song choice. Oh wow. I am surprised how good this is! He really changed this song up and made it his own. The acoustic guitar and everything. Quality. And obviously he is a better singer than Kanye, haha. That was refreshing to see a unique take on a song. Props, Kris.
Dewgs: I hope that Adam and Kris are in the finals. As long as Danny doesn't win - I feel okay about it. I would buy music from either Kris or Adam, but not Danny.
Mewgs: Oh dear. Well this was the night of cheesy, safe song choices. Not a typical top 3 I feel. My favorite performance was definitely "Heartless" by Kris. I'm not really sure who I want in the top 3. When looking at performances over the entire season I liked Danny and Adam better but tonight Kris was good. So I'm not sure. I feel pretty ambivalent at this point since my favorite (Allison) got kicked off.
